You Gotta Get That Dirt Off Your Shoulder

Sounds like you have yourself in quite a pickle, Kiki. You drank too much. You said/did things you shouldn't have. And now you have to peer down the hallway before leaving your office. For shame.

But alas, dear child, there is hope!

All you gots to do is hold your head up high. Be proud of your mischevious ways. You know what you did, he knows what you did, and, well, most of the office probably knows what you did. So walk a step slower, smile a little slyer, and let your body language tell every single one of those jokers that you, Kiki, "got paid."

As our mutual friend, Jay-Z, once said, "Ladies is pimp too, go'n brush your shoulders off."

Pimp, Kiki, pimp.

Big Brother

I sat down at my desk Monday morning, and per my established routine, went to check what was happening in the larger blogosphere. You can only imagine my surprise when I discovered that over the weekend my work, unbeknownst to its employees, installed a firewall on its internet browsers, thereby making blogs unreadable.

For shame.

And thus we have reached a sad end to at-work blogging.

Goodbye Cook. Goodbye Dietsch. Goodbye Lee. Goodbye Kobes.

I hope we meet again.

Kiki Wisdom, Volume II

Me: Everyone [in Northern Virginia] is a consultant, financial analyst, "in sales", or "working on the hill".
Kiki: Aren't they one of your own?
Me: Sadly, yes. It's an internal struggle.
Kiki: You're like a gay Republican.

Kiki Wisdom

The ever insightful Kiki just told me that our "twenties are the puberty of the thirties."

I love it.

Wedding Recap

I would like to say that great things happened at the wedding. I would like to say Mr. Beerman and I made a difference. But, alas, I cannot. The rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and after party were all far too classy for the likes of us Yanks. We were simply outclassed.

So I'll spare you the boring details and say that the wedding was beautiful. Our friend got lucky, found himself a beautiful lady, and did the right thing. Everyone was very happy for them.

I should, though, talk about our post-wedding breakfast. On Sunday, Mr. Beerman and I went out to brunch in downtown Memphis. We arrived, apparently, fashionably early, and ended up walking the city's fine streets for an hour. We finally ended up at the Majestic Cafe where, much to our delight, there was ample outdoor seating. And even more to our delight, we were graced by a young, outgoing waitress - who was still slightly drunk from the bachelorette party the night before.

She made no attempts to hide her intoxication, and, in fact, seemed to embrace it. Perhaps she was only taking Beerman and I for a couple of suckers, but we were happy to play along. Her company was thoroughly enjoyed, and provided the perfect ending to our weekend away.
